Tuesday Tidbits {02.25.20}

February 25, 2020 by playworkrepeat Leave a Comment

See :: The Masked Singer. Obsessed with this show. My guesses have usually been solid on this show up until this new season where I’ve yet to guess a single revealed contestant correctly.

Do :: Make these bacon crackers. How something so simple could be so delicious is mind-blowing. Maybe follow it up with this parmesan popcorn.

Read :: Things I Bought and Liked. Highly entertaining, and the recommendations are always spot on. Love her Instagram page and the blog is a great, quick resource of products that have been tried and tested.

Learn :: How to arrange pillows, because apparently they are “jewelry for the room.” I can’t quit you, Pottery Barn!

F5 :: FIVE FOR FRIDAY {12.27.19}

December 27, 2019 by playworkrepeat Leave a Comment

Another week of holiday cheer is officially in the books!

::1:: I need more “things” like I need a hole in the head, but the sales are too insanely good right now to pass up. From Vineyard Vines to Nordstrom, Wayfair to Serena & Lily, the deals are making me want to buy in bulk and then put my credit cards away for the rest of the year.

::2:: After the heaviness of Christmas-themed meals, I’m craving lightened up Asian-inspired dishes, like these wraps and this turkey salad (despite their abundance of vegetables). Although let’s face it, I’ll be making these Korean Beef Sloppy Joes by week’s end.

::3:: I’m also craving some time with the Peloton, but can’t stop playing Luigi Mansion 3…which Santa brought for my six year old. If he excitedly watches me play, that counts as quality time, right?

::4:: I started a new skincare regimen last night that will carry me through the next couple of weeks. I’m loyal to the Biologique Recherche line, and received Cocktail d’Actifs Régénérants as a Christmas gift from my husband this year. Apparently, I was very good. Will report back.

::5:: My little family, plus my mom, will be embarking on a cruise vacation in 2020! I’ve been on a handful of cruises with my husband before, but never with the little guy and only our second time with Royal Caribbean. The pricing for everything seems astronomical to me, but the time and effort to research/wait/cancel/rebook excursions, packages, etc. seems like more work to me than vacation. Recommendations are so welcome here — splurge and enjoy the ride or keep researching so no regrets later?

Labor Day Sales Roundup

September 1, 2018 by playworkrepeat Leave a Comment

What would Labor Day Weekend be without all the great sales?! I love seeing all the deals, but it’s hard to keep track of all of the great bargains out there. Here’s a roundup of some of my favorite online retailers and the sales they are currently running, which I’ll keep updating throughout the weekend. Happy shopping!

Labor Day Sales

Beauty Bioscience :: Love my GloPRO, and now you can have it too for 20% off! Since I already have the product and a couple of the heads, I may take advantage of this offer for some creams and this stunning rose quartz attachment. CODE: LDW20

Boden :: Offering 20% for adults and 25% for wee ones. Love this brand for myself and my son. CODE: G9C2

Dermstore :: Up to 20% off on participating brands, which they are kind enough to list here. Nothing worse than finding out the product you threw in your cart with your fingers crossed for discount is not participating, so I really appreciate this list and — to be quite honest — will shop directly from it. Skincare is an expensive hobby! The email I received also mentions receiving a Allies of Skin 1A All-Day Pollution Air Mask with a purchase of $200 or more. CODE: LABORDAY

Joss & Main :: Up to 80% on a lot of great stuff and free shipping on “everything” (I’m sure exclusions apply, but still incentivizing). They are also having flash deals on Monday. Color me intrigued. Very interested in the area rug sale, which goes up to a 65% discount.

Macy’s :: They are having huge sales for dang near everything, but I usually use these sales to buy big ticket furniture for the house. During their last sale on July 4th, I scored a fantastic sectional at an amazing price. Furniture sales looking pretty great this time around, too – up to 65% off!

Nordstrom :: Offering up 40% on so many great items!

Paula’s Choice :: This skincare line is offering 20% off with certain exclusions and free shipping on orders of $50+.

Sephora :: It’s still going on! I listed my recommendation and wish list in this post, and there’s still time to save! Rouge members  receive 20% off (CODE: YESROUGE), VIB members receive 15% off (CODE: YESVIB) and Insider members receive 10% off (CODE: YESINSIDER). Codes are good once for online shopping (unlimited at the store), so make sure you’ve got everything you want in there! It’s free to sign up and the sale lasts until 9/3.

Amazing on Amazon

March 27, 2018 by playworkrepeat 1 Comment

Not sure I truly realized the value and glory of all things Amazon until I had my son…less than two months before Christmas with ZERO shopping done.  Queue AMAZON PRIME!

My obsession with Amazon has not waned over the years, either – especially when free time is at a minimum and a trip to Target seems like a vacation.  A few amazing finds on that site recently include:

Tuxedo Teeth Whitening Activated Charcoal Powder :: I wish I had taken a before photo, because the after has been incredible.  I use this in the shower each morning, then brush my teeth normally once I get out.  I’m still in awe that this actually worked!

Panda Planner :: No joke, I read about this on an article dedicated to Amazon cult favorites. I was in the midst of too many work projects — all with the same level of “priority” — and was having difficulty focusing. No focus, no progress. Enter, the Panda Planner. This has really helped me focus on what needs to be done that day, and what I can do without. It also helps me recognize the things I feel good or excited about in my life, which is something I take for granted too often.

Glass Foaming Soap Dispensers :: Okay, I’ll admit that in the midst of my “OMG I NEED A NEW DISPENSER B/C THESE PLASTIC METHOD CONTAINERS AREN’T DOING IT ANYMORE,” I didn’t realize that one was clear and one was blue.  I had spaces in my house where that worked, so not a full blown crisis, but I was surprised. But hey, it’s better than when I wasn’t paying attention and bought my husband child size t-shirts…and opened the package…and washed them…and still didn’t notice, even when he tried to put it on.  Yeah…

Cell Phone Stand :: Like everyone else on Earth, I struggle to ignore my phone while at work. I have a computer (sometimes two) and at least two screens in front of me at all times — WHY CAN’T I PUT THE PHONE DOWN?! I realized it was because I was always worried I would miss something.  Did my son’s preschool call? Did I get a text reminder of a doctor appointment I would have otherwise forgotten about? What is Rue La La selling today?!?!?! And yes, I have an Apple Watch, so I really have no excuse for checking my phone. This stand helped me keep an eye on my phone without holding it in my hand should an issue arise, with a handy dandy cord slot so you can still charge. Plus, it gets my phone off the desk — and we all know how many germs end up on those.  Oh, and it’s $10. Genius.

FYI:  This post contains Amazon affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, but it comes at absolutely no cost to you. For more details, see the full disclosure on my About Page.
